Thank God! It’s quite a surprise for me to receive a Father’s Day gift from my MG leaders, my sons and daughters. It’s a set of basketball sportswear with the number 7, as well as a picture of myself, C-Mo and our dog Favor on it. Above it ar e the words “Following God,” implying that our family of 3 is following God together. It’s so meaningful.
The MG leaders, my sons and daughters, came on-stage and shared their thanks. I was so touched! I’m very grateful to see their changes in life. It’s all the work of God. I’m also grateful to have so many spiritual children. I love them very much and they also love me. How good God’s blessings are to me!
Apart from the MG leaders, some co-workers have also shared their life changes in our Family Breakfast Meeting. I have been asked: how are your co-workers’ lives transformed? Actually it’s not only me and C-Mo who are discipling them, we are also working with the whole core team to “Embrace Pearls”.
“Embracing Pearls” is an exercise in tolerance. I have shared publicly before that a co-worker often thinks his authority despises him. On one occasion, I was on-stage and serving the parents of “joyful angels,” this co-worker was unhappy as I didn’t lay hands on him to pray for him. On this occasion, I was not serving the ministers – and he was ministering, that’s why I didn’t serve him. Despite this, he asked me for an apology.
It’s not easy to tolerate such offences, but my belief is that I won’t give up on anyone, unless they themselves give up. God treats me with kindness and will never give up on me, so I will not give up on my co-workers. So long as a co-worker stays in our (big) family, I shall treat each one with God’s kindness. Kindness is the way. If we just treat people with God’s love and kindness, then their lives will change one day.
I’d rather be cheated than myself refusing to help people who are really in need. In the past, when we were still at the North Point Pier, a stranger told me he wanted to return to his hometown, and asked me to cover his travel fee. I thought it might have been a scam, but if it had been genuine need and I didn’t help, then I would have failed to help a person in need. Finally, I gave him money. When I went home, I was scolded by my wife. But I believe that when I treat people with kindness, I’ll receive a reward in heaven.
Dear brothers and sisters, God treats us with kindness and has asked us to love each other. Let’s follow God together. Let’s nurture people with kindness and become a tree of life, pleasing God and bringing lasting impact.•[2020.06.28]
