May Blossoms
Flowers blossom to sheer beauty in May. Before church anniversary in May, as led by the Holy Spirit, C-Mo and I took a team to Malaysia, holding the “International Pastor Couples’ Camp” in Kuala Lumpur and the “Heart and Ball” International Basketball Match and Worshipers’ Summit in Kuching.
GA611 in Kuala Lumpur and Kuching 611 are the Trees of Life planted since “North Point Pier Era”. After being watered and renewed throughout these years, they are grown-ups now and have started “52 Years’ Planting Tree of Life Everywhere in Malaysia”. Matured after years of refining, GA611 is of many competent and capable members who support us in administration and teaching. Her branch churches go from Malaysia and Singapore to India and Africa, planting Trees of Life round the globe. As our first branch church, Kuching 611 has been courageous in watering and nurturing, overcoming many difficulties. Now, her team stands united and spreading the Gospel with one heart. How grateful and delighted we are to see the churches in East and West Malaysia rising up. The joy of 52 Years’ Planting Tree of Life Everywhere is evident.
The Couples’ Camp in Kuala Lumpur was joined by 28 couples from different countries and regions. There was a world-class florist in the GA611 team who decorated the venue with exotic Malaysian style, creating an ambience for everyone to open up their hearts. The participants were mainly of branch churches’ senior pastors and their core disciples. The theme of the camp came to us only after we arrived in Kuala Lumpur which was: “Tree of Life – One Way”. We were to pass on the vision of “52 Years’ Planting Tree of Life everywhere” to our branch churches before
church anniversary. Hence, the three days’ camp was a selected version of the Pastor Couples’ Camp and an abridged version of the Network Conference.
As we tackle marital relationship and church discipleship from the perspective of planting Tree of Life, a lot of new elements are added and the content of the couples’ camp is changed largely. We are to establish a Tree of Life church. A church should never, after sharing gospel and bringing people to church, load brothers and sisters with many rules and unbearable burdens and pressure. Instead, we must build a Tree of Life church and live out the life of a true son: Through the “Inside out” movie, we uncover the destructive power of “fear”, “anger” and “law” over our lives and ministry. Pastors and leaders must boldly face it and be willing to change, living out the life of a true son.
Everyone who serves on stage is imperfect because he has his own weaknesses. We do not need to live in pretension, only Jesus is perfect. Therefore, we should think of others and ourselves with sober judgment. Husband and wife should serve together with one mind. It is easy for the husband to focus on ministry and neglect his wife intentionally or unintentionally. The ministry platform is to be maintained by the husband and wife of one mind. Pastors and husbands should always honor and approve the work of their wives. Regarding one’s way as the most important is the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, not the tree of life. When husband and wife walk together, the fruit of their ministry is not just one plus one equals two but far greater than that.
With gratitude and excitement, I flew from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, believing that “Heart and Ball” meeting will also be in full blossoms and bearing much fruit. Dear brothers and sisters, 611 ministry is the ministry of Tree of Life, the right way, and “One Way”. May we follow the fresh streams of the Holy Spirit closely and continue to experience the wonders of our life in full blossoms. • [2019.05.5]
