Man rests, God works

Praise the Lord, when we enter rest as led by Him, He is doing great work for us.

We celebrated the recent Purim Festival in the most effortless way. “Story-telling” was excellent and even becomes a new trend in multimedia production. After the cell leader ordination ceremony last Sunday, there are exactly 1,000 cell leaders in our church now. This signifies a new milestone of our discipleship – we are able to pastor up to 10,000 members.

Even during rest, God is doing new things for us. In the cell leader luncheon last Sunday, I shared pastoral tip with the newly-ordained cell leaders which is curating and building up disciples in the atmosphere of Tree of Life with God’s Kindness. Father God keeps blessing pastoral tribes and cell leaders of our church. As MG discipleship enters new phase, it will certainly see even gr eater growth. New worship service at 10:30 am kicked off last Sunday. It was our first time holding services at Mercy Seat and Wealthy Garden Main Hall simultaneously. It is an alternative to brothers and sisters who prefer not to queue up to join service at the first floor while others may still go to Mercy Seat.

Praise the Lord, over 300 people attended the first worship service at the first floor. Surely, this worship service will continue to improve and develop its own features. With more worship services available, the congregation number will breakthrough again soon.

We had planned to retreat with the “Curator Staff” (formerly known as “Steering Committee”) to Cheung Chau Hiding Place from Monday through Wednesday (April 1st to 3rd). But in order to host overseas guests, the venue was changed to our house.

Despite the familiar place, God granted us beautiful weather, new visions and breakthroughs. Starting from myself, together we opened up ourselves before God, confessing sins and admitting shortcomings which led us away from the Tree of Life. We ministered to one another and even performed healing and deliverance for a few co-workers with special needs.

Moreover, we were determined to change ourselves, grow up, and be an upright Tree of Life. Then we should curate and build up disciples and departmental co-workers in the Love of God and lead them on to their destiny. At dusk, we took Holy Communion, savored lamb legs and then strolled to have dinner. It felt like we were leaving Egypt and entering Canaan which echoed the Book of Exodus we had been reading during morning devotion.

We are thankful to experience once again that as we obey His leading and entering rest, then He starts working. Dear brothers and sisters, in repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength. This is the promise of our heavenly Father, let us humbly receive!•[2019.04.07]
