New Milestone of Couples’ Camp

The early spring of “Acceptable 2019” has brought warm weather, and two couples’ day camps held on the same day. One was tailor-made for the medical sector. How pleased I am to see the Couples’ Camp reach its 18-year milestone!

Our disciples Chak Man and Elaine are doctors who long to disciple doctors: therefore, we organized a dinner meeting with some doctors. During the dinner, it was mentioned that 611 highly regarded family and marriage relationships. The “Couples’ Camp” is considered a signature camp of ours which appeals to many of them. Therefore, we promptly decided to hold a couples’ day camp for doctors, because we believed that their needs would be better met in a dedicated camp.

Afterwards, we were told of another couples’ day camp already scheduled on the same day. With no other options available, we chose to hold two day camps simultaneously at two different places. It served as a good chance to try the capacity of co-workers. After much coordination, few of our disciple couples were invited to assist. The logistics of the camps were finalized swiftly, but we were wondering if people joined only to save our faces. The outcome proved otherwise as the Presence of God, and his blessings, filled the camps.

Preparing for preaching, C-Mo and I were unable to join them in person. To show our love and concern for them, C-Mo arranged seven bouquets which were respectively named, “Homely Blossoms”, “Submission of the Earth”, “Charm of Fire”, “Jacob’s Ladder”, “Blessings and Victories”, “With Covering Comes Pearls”, and “Baptism of Fire”. Both venues were thus filled with warmth and a thick atmosphere of love, and so students were attentive and willing to open up themselves for deep sharing. During one session, husbands sent flowers to their wives and they lovingly danced with each other. The students greatly appreciated this part.

The demonstration of Chak Man and Elaine praising each other publicly during the “Deposit” session moved many couples to tears. The teachings and illustrations of Pastor Adino and his wife, as well as Principal Wai Keung and his wife, were lively and vivid. MG leader Alex Wan and his wife concluded with the message, “God first, People next, then the Earth” so that all participants could deeply understand God’s heart on couple’s relationship. The ministry team is being promoted as the “Dream Team” – offering great service and creating wonderful results.

At the end of the camps, students were grateful to have had firsthand experience of the “legendary” camp – they found it as warm and deep as they had heard. Some expressed great interest to attend 611 meetings, while some look forward to joining the 4-days-and-3-night’s Couple’s Camp.

Dear brothers and sisters, the vision of “52 years planting Trees of Life everywhere” is expanding through the Couples’ Camp as it transforms cities, nations and cultures. Surely, we shall follow the vision, and engage in faith: marital and family relationships should be affectionate, so that family relationships will no longer be indifferent. We are to turn wrong value systems around, and bring the Earth under the rule of God and man. Then, the curse that “in the sweat of one’s face, one shall eat bread” shall be broken, and the Earth shall work for man – and family will be greatly blessed. •[2019.03.10]
