Returning to God in Truth

I am Fevilyn Manuel , a disciple of Pastor Roxan Lapitan. Years ago, I accepted Jesus Christ and decided to follow Him. Having little faith in God to provide for my financial needs, I took a part-time job on Sundays in order to provide for myself and my family. In my heart, I knew that I should keep my day off holy to the Lord and also, it is illegal to work part- time. Yet, I was happy with the extra money I earned. Before long, I lost my peace as I feared my employer would find out what I was doing, and I would be put in jail. Being exhausted physically, mentally, and spiritually, I was restless and stressed out all the time.

Then one day, I read Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Confronted by the Word of God, I was awakened to the fact that I was indeed serving two masters. Coincidentally, at that time my contract was ending. Confessing my sin to God, I asked Him to give me a second chance to return to Him and His Truth and promised Him that I would not work part-time anymore.

Praise the Lord, as I returned to Him, He returned to me. I found a new employer who pays me enough to cover the financial needs of my family. Furthermore, after I quit my part-time job, I was given opportunities to rise up as a cell leader. Now I am a joyful spiritual mother holding my cell group. When I was wise in my own eyes, I lost joy and direction in life. As I trust in the Lord with all my heart, He makes my path straight. Hallelujah!
