We give thanks to God for leading 611 through 24 years. During the recently celebrated 24th church anniversary, we rejoiced together and gave immense gratitude for God’s revealing His presence and glory among us.
This year, God continued to lead us into the flow of Exodus. From the Purim musical drama “The Calling 1” to the Easter production “The Calling 2”, both conveyed the message of how God used Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Two weeks prior to the anniversary, C-Mo felt inspired to present a dance drama to praise God for leading us out of Egypt!
Although there was only two weeks of preparation time, our co-worker Jojo responded immediately and led the team to choreograph a three-scene dance drama. It depicted how the Israelites were saved by God in Egypt, passed through the “Gate of Redemption,” crossed the Red Sea and experienced miracles, and rejoiced with Moses and Miriam while praising God’s mighty works. The story then moved to Mount Sinai, where they established a covenant with God, receiving grace to become His people. Even today, God continues to lead His people into the “Gate of Glory,” making us royal priests!
The dance drama had no lines, yet the dancers conveyed the message of truth through movement. Co-worker Stella Luk and her husband Ah On worked seamlessly with the team to create songs that complemented the dance. Everyone collaborated perfectly, all orchestrated by the Holy Spirit!
Even more amazing was during the Pastor Ordination a week before the church anniversary, Asaph who was just ordained sang a new song of thanksgiving. One line of the song led me to reflect on Psalm 8, and I felt inspired to respond with a new song on the spot: “O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!” (Psalm 8:1, NKJV), it was this Asaph Lau!
God works through each and every one of us to reveal His glory. Later, I realized that Psalm 8 and the Book of Exodus carry the same thread. God used Moses to rescue the Israelites from Pharaoh’s hand, silencing the enemy and manifesting His glory above the heavens! Hence, during the church anniversary, I used Psalm 8 as the focus of my sermon, proclaiming, “O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8:9, NKJV). None of this was planned by me; it was all God’s guiding hand. Witnessing His works left me in awe and admiration!
Reflecting on the first half of this year, the church has already presented two large-scale musical dramas and one major dance drama for the anniversary. None of this was accomplished by our own strength but entirely by God’s power! I am deeply grateful for the outstanding team of co-workers God has given me. Without a team, I could only perform solo. But when God chooses each co-worker and they respond to His call, we become a spectacle that reveals God’s presence and His Kingdom for the world to witness.■【2025.05.25】
