The Presence of God is the Most Important

Everyone who comes to 611 feels the strong presence of God, and that God is very real among us. Actually God’s presence needs us to minister. Then how shall we do that?

I believe God’s word is the key. With God’s word, the Holy Spirit has a track to move upon. The Old Testament talks about the priests needing to keep the lamp of God burning in the Holy Place – it must not go out. The book of Samuel records that when the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli, the word of the Lord was rare and there was no widespread revelation as the lamp of God nearly went out. If the lamp was kept burning brightly, there would be much revelation. I grasped this truth and even before we started our church in Hong Kong, Pastor Deborah and I were already having morning devotion in Taipei every day to tend the lamp for 611. Then we started morning devotion on the first day we opened our church in Hong Kong. When we diligently studied, believed and proclaimed God’s word, whatever revelations and promptings we received from the Holy Spirit, we responded in faith through prayers. Then the Holy Spirit was moving in our midst. During the SARS period, we held the Jesus-100 evangelistic meetings in this way – we received the vision, proclaimed what God would do, asked the Holy Spirit to move, and supported it in faith. As a result, we were all in peace and even overcame SARS.

Furthermore, our faith is also very important in ministering God’s presence. When we receive God’s revelations, we must, at any costs, pay the price in manpower, resources and time to follow through. In 2009 when we went to Israel for a prayer walk and looked for the Bethel altar, I cried out to God and the Holy Spirit led us with a cloud and we found the Jacob’s ladder, and the altar was right there. We also carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord in the Spirit from Kirjath Jearim onto the airplane, and then welcomed it onto the stage center of our Wealthy Garden Main Hall. We also went for prayer walks in gospel-restricted areas at God’s direction, and we established branch points in those places one by one. Everything is so real in the spiritual realm and when we enter in faith, we can bring down God’s presence into the physical realm to experience together.

I have been practicing spiritual praying for decades and have developed it as my channel to communicate with God and receive His revelations. For 23 years, our church has been walking in God’s revelations. We have closely followed God through the pandemic, the social movement, online attacks and other difficulties. I often ask God what He is doing and how He wants us to respond. When we actively seek Him, we see God’s active response. Now God has led us to start the Fortress Prayer Meeting and is continuously pouring out His truth. I am deeply grateful for that! Let’s continue to hold fast to the truth and follow the Holy Spirit closely, so that God’s presence will continue to be with us!■【2024.08.04】
