The Father’s Heart

Ever since the planting of 611, C-Mo and I have nurtured disciples and co-workers with the heart of father and mother in order that everyone can receive God’s love and grow sturdily.

As a spiritual father, I regard the growth of my children’s lives more than their works. I strongly believe that when they have good relationships with God and men, all the work of their hands will be smooth. However, my disciples struggled to appreciate my heart at first. Debby, my disciple, used to consider me her boss. She would do everything that I asked her to do the best she knew how. Later on, she accepted that I was her father. However, she went to another extreme and projected the anger towards her biological father on me. Whenever I did something against her will, she opposed me, saying “Come, beat me up and scold me, this is the way I am!” However, I kept loving her, perfecting her. Finally, she received the full measure of love. Praise the Lord, now I have a real father-daughter relationship with her.

Jason, another disciple is a highly competent and capable person. He decided to give his all when he chose to offer himself to God. First, he took me as his boss, then his master, trying to learn from me. Yet, he realized that it was not a thoroughfare because he didn’t understand the guts of our relationship. Later on, our relationship improved because he thought that he knew what it meant for me to be his father, but actually he didn’t. Eight years ago, he was on the brink of death. With all the resources I had, I found him doctors and hospital. After staying in the isolation ward for some time, he was lonely and suffering. As soon as it was possible, I visited him. He cried in my arms like a child holding his father. His emotions were released and this father-son relationship between us was established.

For me, it is good enough to see my children growing healthily and happily, loving each other. It’s by God’s grace that I can be a father to many. My biological father left us and built another family when we were young. He never gave us even a penny. I once wanted to call some spiritual giants spiritual father but was rejected, used, or even sacrificed. Even though I was deprived of a father model, thankfully, my father-in-law spent his last few years with us. He showed me what it meant to be a father. Vividly, I remember him saying to me, “You are the best preacher among all the church pastors I have ever known.” It has encouraged me greatly and spurred me on to keep pursuing and keep growing.

As I keep following God and serving Him, I align myself with God. Receiving the love of the Heavenly Father, I am willing to make disciples with a father’s heart, leading my children to follow God together. May we all be fathers and mothers, filling the Tree of Life with the love of our Heavenly Father!■【2023.07.23】
