In Unison
Praise the Lord, last Thursday and Friday night (29th-30th Nov), the Youth Army successfully held a worship concert 《Fly High for Your Glory》at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium, not only did we thoroughly enjoy the passionate and spectacular performances of our youths but we also greatly experienced the Glorious Presence of God.
We are even more thankful to see two, three and even four generations partnering on stage. The whole co-worker team was just like one big family working together in unison to offer a most beautiful and united sacrifice to God, Hallelujah!
After the worship concert, in different occasions and social media, many people are giving thanks and singing the praises of the concert. Even on Monday at the MG cell group everyone was still riding on the high waves from the concert and we sang many songs that had been sung at the concert and gave thanks to God for His amazing grace.
Our disciple, the former department head of Youth Army, Debby was especially moved, recalling that when she first came to 611 fifteen years ago, she was just a trainee theological student who knew nothing. But through the discipleship of the Tree of Life when she is constantly being fulfilled, she becomes more competent to disciple the youths and she does the same to the younger generation. Today, the glory displayed on stage was in fact the fruit of 15 years of discipleship in the Youth Army.
Through Fly High for Your Glory the young generation is rising up and being used by God. It was the first time for many youths to take up a leadership role in such a major event. Moreover, the whole church was putting in all to support and set up the stage for them. The life stories of the youth retold how miraculously their lives came out of utter despair into the wonderful light. The light dance materialized the vision of “dry bones live”, proving that the prayer Debby made to God 15 years ago had been answered!
At morning devotion on Tuesday, we read on the time when Solomon dedicated the temple and the whole Israel worshipped God with one voice and then His Glory came down. That echoed the 《Fly High for Your Glory》concert 3 days ago and showed us that God is pleased with our worship:
The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud, (2 Ch 5:13)
Dear brothers and sisters, today we shall prepare ourselves so that we may become suitable vessels of God. Whether we are vessels of gold, silver, wood, bronze or iron; as long as we are willing to submit ourselves, and with a heart of humility 「joined in unison」with the Body of Christ and be used by God, we shall become precious vessels of God to display His Glory and fulfill the vision of planting Trees of Life in 52 years. • [2018.12.9]
