Prayer focus for Malaysia

1. Pray for the pandemic situation in Malaysia

On the 31st Aug 2021 which is Malaysia’s 64th anniversary of Independence, over 20 000 new cases were confirmed. Our branch churches are also located at the COVID red zone areas where these states have over 4-digit new cases reported daily.

We ask for mercy Heavenly Father and remove all the pestilences from Malaysia. May you forgive their transgression that they have committed against the land and we proclaim that the blood of Jesus will cleanse and break all the chains of infection. May the healing of Jesus be upon the patients & the front liners fighting this pandemic.

We also continue to pray for the progress of vaccination in the nation that God would grant the National Public Health Administration and the government wisdom to be able to strategically implement prevention plans for the pandemic, including vaccination plans for the foreigners.

2. Pray for the political situation of the nationAfter a tumultuous 17 months in power, the former prime minister of Malaysia has stepped down due to growing division within the ruling coalition, where he no longer had a majority to rule. Also, amidst the rising public anger at the continued surge in COVID cases despite months of various levels of lockdown in Malaysia due to poor response to the pandemic.

However, with the pandemic situation in Malaysia which is a democratic country is unable to hold a general election, and henceforth the constitutional monarch role becomes increasingly prominent, appointing a new prime minister of Malaysia.

We commit all the leaders of the nation into your hands Father Lord, including the constitutional monarch, Sultan Abdullah; the newly appointed Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri Yaakob; the newly-formed cabinet, ministers, and deputy ministers. May God bless them with wisdom to make the right decisions, to perform their authority with fairness and justice, and serve the nation’s best interest.

3. Pray for the economy of the nation

Malaysia has experienced great economic turbulence where the manufacturing sector is greatly impacted which slows the country’s economic recovery due to the severe pandemic situation.

We cry out to Jesus to save the nation and people from this economic crisis. We proclaim that God will make a road in the wilderness in Malaysia’s economy, and rivers in the desert in the marketplace, and outpour down His supernatural provision and breakthroughs.

We also pray that the government and all business sectors will work together to fight the pandemic and wisely adopt the measures and plans for economic recovery!
