Prayer time for Japan

I am grateful to have participated in the recent anew prayer meeting (29-7-25), where we prayed together for Japan. Especially in the face of numerous reports of earthquakes, we need to call upon God for Japan even more, that peace may enter the heart of every Japanese. No matter how turbulent the seas, God still reigns. And Japan is God’s inheritance.

I was most moved by the prayers for our branch churches in Japan. There are currently five branch churches in Japan, spread across Hokkaido, Osaka, and Okinawa. We prayed that God would grant a spirit of oneness, that they will develop a strong connection with each other and spread the breath of Tree of Life all over Japan. We especially prayed for the upcoming pastoral shifts, asking that God’s love would fill each branch churches even more, that He would do new things in the new teams. That God would continue to move through churches in Japan to bring revival to the nation.

Finally, we also learned about Japan’s sex industry and its deep connection to the idols worshipped. I have always known that Japan’s pornography industry is thriving, but I never realised that it accounts for 1% of their gross national product. And Japan is the world’s largest exporter of pornography. People of all ages, from children and teenagers to the elderly, can easily access this content and accept such distorted views of relationship, sexuality and marriage. Japan truly needs the God’s love, and salvation so that hearts can be satisfied and find the triune God to rely on. That was our prayer!
