Each of us is like the Israelites leaving Egypt, complaining as soon as we leave. Even with the pillar of cloud and fire right in front of them, they witnessed God’s presence but still complained because they had no water to drink. Why is that? Because complaining is human nature. However, if we complain, we cannot follow God and cannot enter into His promises!
In the past, when I chatted with my disciple Basil, he often looked unhappy because no matter what we talked about, he always criticized and judged. He only saw what he lacked, failing to recognize what he had, which was very much like the Israelites. When they encountered difficulties, even though the cloud was right in front of them, they chose to look at the problems instead of the cloud, believing they had no water or food… With various needs unmet, they constantly complained. Thankfully, Basil has completely changed over the past two years. When his perspective shifted and he began to see God’s intentions, he became positive and began to look forward to God’s work.
Another disciple of mine, Debby, cannot help but complain whenever her husband Joseph fails to meet her expectations, leading to tension in their relationship. However, when her perspective changes and she focuses on fulfilling her husband, their marriage becomes sweeter. As the Song of Solomon says, we are a well but what are we filled with? Gratitude is sweet water, while complaints are bitter water. Therefore, we must adjust our perspective, learn to be grateful, and fill ourselves with sweet water, so that we no longer complain.
When dealing with members who complain, we need to be patient and wait for them with love and endurance. Some things cannot be rushed; they truly need time until they mature and fall into God’s proper path. Furthermore, we should not just lead them by pointing out what is wrong; we need to think about the problem and then find ways to solve it, which will genuinely help and fulfill them.
As Christians, the process of following God will involve experiencing the wilderness and facing hardships. When we encounter trials, will we rise with the wind or be blown away by it? The Christian life will face many attacks and darkness, but we must fight, trampling the darkness under our feet. We must rise up and praise, fixing our eyes on God like an eagle! This year is “Launch 2025”, and I bless everyone to dwell safely in praise, overcome all storms, and inherit the land!■【2025.03.16】
