At the beginning of March, C-Mo and I led the Levite-teacher team to set foot in Africa for the first time, embarking on a field trip. In the past, we hardly knew anything about Africa but through Richard and Sharon from South Africa, we have connected with the land. God gave them a vision to be the bridge for African and Chinese and God keeps confirming to us that planting Trees of Life in Africa is of His will.
Cape Town was our first stop. Leaving the airport, we saw the much worn out iron-sheeted houses on both sides of the roads. I was deeply grieved seeing people in total despair and it is likely their descendants would be no different. Only the Tree of Life can bring changes to their lives, families and descendants.
First of all, we went sight-seeing at the Table Mountain in Cape Town. There, God spoke to us. The weather was fine when we first arrived. However, a squall came when we were queuing up. We found no shelter in the open field. As there was a pregnant woman in our team, without any hesitation, we crowded together to keep warm and shelter each other. There, we demonstrated the close connection of the Tree of Life, loving each other. It was eye-catching for the tourists and it also became our golden memory. The squall stopped later. It was just like a prophetic act led by God – bringing Trees of Life to that place in the spirit.
That Sunday, without any prior arrangements, we attended service in a neighbouring church. During worship time, the pianist said that he had received from God that He would heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives and open prison to those who are bound and he read out Isaiah 61:1. We were not introduced then. When I was still in my seat, I asked God what I should talk about if I was invited on stage. God told me to talk about 611 vision. After worship, the senior pastor invited our team to go on stage. Then we introduced ourselves as 611 Bread of Life Christian Church and Isaiah 61:1 was the vision given by God to us. When I declared that God would bring healing and changes to Africa, the congregation was deeply moved and they sensed the presence of God. How wonderful is God’s leading!
The night before we left Cape Town, on our way to the coach after dinner, we saw an African Tree of Life sculpture, what a great surprise! It seems that God is telling us that He would plant Trees of Life in Africa Himself.
At the start of the African trip, God has given us many affirmations. Surely, God will continue to lead us in this journey of planting Trees of Life in Africa.■【2024.03.31】
