Building Trees of Life

Two weeks ago, C-Mo and I led a co-workers’ Couples’ Camp – the first ever English Couples’ Camp in our church. The nine participating couples actively engaged in it and hence have received a lot.

It was the third Couples’ Camp for co-workers Weimin and Jolyn who came from Singapore. They were in tears thinking how they were before coming to 611. Had they not come under the Tree of Life, their marriage would have broken. Weimin passionately served God before. However, his priority was all wrong – he highly esteemed church ministries, thinking that he was serving God while putting his wife’s needs last. That’s why his loved one was hurt. Praise God, he came to his senses. The first core value of the Tree of life is “God first, people second, then the earth”. God takes the highest place, and people including marriage and family come second. The earth, the career and ministry which gave him sense of success, should be last. He is to love his wife with all his heart and his strength and not to sacrifice her for applauds. Thank God, now they both have changed and their relationship turns more intimate.

Justin and June from Switzerland came to the Tree of Life out of their longing for God. They had attended Couples’ Camp before. However, during ABC communication this time, Justin came to his senses after being confronted by his wife greatly. She was deeply hurt because he didn’t face an issue happened long ago. To him, she was being unreasonable, but it was actually him avoiding her that made her suppressed. June also admitted that she was in deception – she believed that her marriage was perfect yet the fact was she was accommodating him in everything. They respected each other but there were no exchanges. Now she knows she must re-align to be a real helper. Thankfully, their concepts and thoughts have been greatly renewed by the work of the Holy Spirit. Justin heard his wife and decided to move back to Hong Kong from Switzerland.
