Discipleship through Being, Life can Overflow
It is common knowledge that I am passionate about basketball — a group of people with the same Being connected and lear nt from one another through the basketball camp. We could also lead them to the Tree of Life to connect with God and men. That was effortless for me and highly influential.
Cato, our co-worker, is the church’s basketball coach. He has come under the tree of Life for 7 years now. Seeing his life change and his marriage and family life making breakthroughs and elevations, I gave thanks to God for him. He was previously hot-tempered on the basketball court, driving away players. Now he is patient and gentle in teaching others. He is well-liked and respected by the players. With full love and acceptance, he disciples the kids. Not only does their basketball skill improve greatly, their lives are not the same anymore.
The highlight of this camp was the exchange between nations. The youth from our Dubai branch church organised a team to join the basketball camp from their deep longing. As they found satisfaction and elevation after being discipled in the camp, they decided to stay longer after the camp. Simon, the leader of their team, gave his life to Jesus because of this. Coach Shih Chao Chieh of the Tainan Municipal Yong-Ren Senior High School basketball team came to us after the three-year pandemic, joined by his wife and 18 new players. He is the coach of Yong-Ren and for eternity because he responded to God by serving Him and passing on life to the team. He wins souls as well as redeeming life.
Joash, my disciple told us that a brother took initiative to meet new friends in the camp, evangelising as well as connecting with them. In the meantime, he shared what he received and learned during Morning Devotions on social media every day. We can follow God even while playing basketball. I disciple through BIC, connect through my Being and build relationships through playing. Moreover, I share the breath of the Tree of Life and the word and truth of God which I find easy and joyful. God is doing new things incessantly; hence many people have received an abundance.
Brothers and sisters, this is the power of BIC – I keep following God and passing on His Words. Basketball and bible flow naturally from my life. May I keep playing basketball until 120 years old, all glory to God. May you also unleash your BIC, follow God relaxingly and joyfully, bless you all!■【2023.08.13】
