Four Seasons Cantata Dedicated to God (Part 2)
Thank God that the marriage of C-Mo and I has been through forty years of four seasons. The Four Seasons Cantata I wrote during our wedding anniversary trip talks about summer, autumn and winter. Now, I will pen about spring.
Coming back from the Europe trip, C-Mo and I have strong feelings towards spring. Besides the coincidence of the Four Seasons Concert, we were led by God to see many wildflowers during the trip. In the Plitvice Lakes of Croatia, we saw many colourful and beautiful flowers whenever and wherever we stopped. Those flowers were not planted but just grew naturally. It was just like paradise. We couldn’t help but capture the captivating sceneries of the lakes and mountains. Plitvice Lakes were just like a fairyland, symbolising that we had entered into spring.
The lyrics about spring in the song represent our present vision and what we are doing. We saw swifts flying as well as flowers blooming. Likewise, our co-workers and brothers and sisters who had many problems in life have been led by the Holy Spirit to the Tree of life where they are restored and renewed.
We met Jason and Anna briefly in America. They joined us at the start of our church, before we were officially registered. By chance, I ran into the principal of a local seminary. Therefore, Jason was able to stay and serve in Hong Kong as a bible school student. Ruby and Basil were our sheep in Canada, they were drawn by how we followed God. Hence they decided to leave Vancouver, their comfort zone and came to Hong Kong to follow God as a family. Just as I wrote in the Cantata, “A toucan led the alpine swifts ahead, upon the wind they soared up the highest mount building the largest nest.” They came from the east and the west to the “Eden”, under the Tree of Life. For God, we build new nests which fill the whole Tree, that’s how the Tree of Life Church is built!
Thankfully, I noticed that the whole community is vibrant this summer. Our next generation is able to release the vibe of the Tree of Life freely in short-term missions and camps, as our song sings, “Happily sing pure simple BIC”. This is the heart of God who asks not hard labour from us but expects us to live out Tree of Life vision. The birdies and the children are soaring high and over all the earth, cheering and singing aloud to God.
Brothers and sisters, may you feel the vibe of freedom in the song, receiving the breath of the Tree of life so that people around you may also receive freedom, bless you!■【2023.08.06】
