Following God during Rest

Earlier on, I fell sick and was found to catch COVID last Tuesday. Thank God that after some rest I have got much better. During my recuperation, I invited my “Special Force” disciples – Jason, Anna and Deborah who have been by my side for over 21 years, to film “Following God” programme and share their experience in following God with me:

Pastor Jason stated, “In leading us to follow God, Ps Joshua impressed me most in holding Jesus-100 evangelistic meeting. To a church of 200 members or any church, it was phenomenal to hold just a 7-day evangelistic meeting. In entire human history, there have been only two or three people who did that. It was simply an impossible task for us. God asked him to do that and he did as prompted. Though it was considered to be unimaginable, it was an accomplished mission now.

He has changed a fundamental life concept of mine. As a person called by God, I have put the world behind me, planning to do some ground-breaking work for God. However, in the past many years walking with Ps Joshua, I have realised that he focuses on beholding what God is doing and following suit. Many times, after receiving from God in prayer, he proclaimed it and then gave it to God. This is contrary to my concept when I was called.”

Pastor Deborah mentioned, “When we were still meeting in Fort Street, Pastor Joshua received clearly from God that our church should move to North Point Pier even though we had only 20,000 dollars in saving. His faith was great – as soon as he had received it in prayer, he submitted and followed. This has boosted my faith. He took action upon hearing God and God endorsed him. Things are accomplished this way and miracles happened one by one. Being a timid person, I can be indecisive at times. But seeing how Ps Joshua follows God demonstrates that God is living and true and He dwells in our midst bodily.

He is also willing to listen to his wife, C-Mo. When we moved from North Point Pier to Wealthy Garden in Tsuen Wan, our saving was 4.5 million and the property price was 50 million. He once thought about touring around preaching to raise funds as other foreign pastors did. However, C-Mo believed that as the idea of church building came from God, they should trust God for provision. He then decided to simply follow God. As they did not take matters into their own hands, when things were accomplished, nobody could steal God’s glory by attributing the success to man’s efforts.”

To Pastor Anna, “Pastor Joshua does not sweat and toil. Instead, he follows God at ease. He believes God is at work and he tells us what He is doing and invites us to watch together. He refuses to be a lone ranger, instead, he works with people around him, including C-Mo, the prophet, teachers and co-workers’ team, to lead us to follow God together.”

Thank God for granting me a good team who are willing to follow God with me. They continue to disciple co-workers and brothers and sisters while C-Mo and I are recuperating. I believe that God gives us rest so that we may renew our strength and He will take the church to ascend and ascend in the days to come.
