Tree of Life Education

Thank God for having been leading us through 21 years and keeping the Tree of Life growing. This year God has prompted us to further nurture Tree of Life education.

Our vision of Tree of Life education originates from the Ten Heartified Commandments. The more we digest the Commandments, the more we understand God’s creation and we have realised that Being is above all else. The Being of each individual is unique and this is fundamental to Tree of Life education. We believe that education is about finding out the uniqueness of each child rather than standardization.

Many years ago I studied the Ten Commandments with Professor Klaus Bockmuehl at Regent College and learned that they were the legislation foundation of many Western countries. Hence I believed that they are crucial. I am grateful that today God has given new revelation to C-MO and me that the Ten Commandments are going to be the foundation of Tree of Life education, and a strong one in Truth, too.

In digesting the Fourth Commandment, we mediate deeper the design of our Heavenly Father and we should educate our next generation to learn to explore and manage the world created by our Father. In fact this is also the Truth that God has given us. In this way the Tree of Life becomes more solid, not a hollow tree. In today’s world there are various education beliefs, systems and methods, some stressing freedom and some governance. As for the exploration and management derived from the Fourth Commandment, exploration is from freedom while management is about self-control. That has actually integrated one of our core values, “More Freedom, More Self-control”. Such education is taking our next generation to God’s design.

I believe that the Tree of Life education will surely succeed as our church will not detach from the school. We insist that our education will not go secular and that teachers and students will receive discipleship together under the Tree of Life. Nowadays schools would like to maintain their education quality but they have different value systems. As for us, our education is based clearly and strongly on the values of the Ten Commandments. In Jewish tradition, the Ten Commandments amount to the Law, which is exactly the Tree of Life.

The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) We should educate our children not to go on a broad and worldly way but God’s way. Dear brothers and sisters, now is God’s time – under the Tree of Life Education, may our next generations embark God’s way together.■【2022.11.27】
