Live Out Kingdom Mercy

Recently, we have been preaching on “The Heavenly 8 Beatitudes”. Before and after each service, we encounter many coincidences which show us God is leading us. The message of Beatitudes is a special gift from God to us so that we may understand more about the attitude and conduct as heavenly people.

At the end of March, we shared the #fifth beatitude: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” (Matthew 5:7) Being merciful takes real action. On that Sunday afternoon, Pastors Asaph and Hadassah did an act of mercy, joined by 15 disciples of them. They tidied up the house of a deceased ragpicker.

This action was initiated by a group of young people which C-Mo and I did not know it beforehand. Coincidently the message on mercy was released just on that Sunday morning, encouraging and empowering them. They experienced great peace God put in their hearts. The mother of the brother being helped became a ragpicker thirty years ago when her husband passed away. The mother and son spent their days in heaps of rubbish inside their house. The concerns shown by social workers and the media did not change their living environment. Thank God for bringing the brother to our church to be discipled and his mother turned to Christ before passing away. She shared with her son her last wish that their house be tidied up. After her son frankly reported the hygienic condition of his house to his cell leader, God sent a group of young people to show His mercy. They moved out rubbish and stuff and countless old furniture of thirty years from his house. What a beautiful thing.

Living in a modern city for so long, we might be scared to face such a terribly unhygienic environment. However, the truth about heavenly kingdom is in our midst and when we take the mercy action as heavenly people should do, caring for those we can get in touch, God has promised that we will surely obtain mercy and experience heavenly peace and satisfaction.

All is in God’s timing and His plan is neither late nor early. The coincidence has shown how real God’s leading is. Waves of merciful act, from the “#Jehoshua Care and Love” action till now, have compelled us that God’s word can be done and God is hence glorified. I also see that everyone needs a community. Nobody is left alone under the Tree of Life as God is in our midst. We have each other and get connected to be a loving community. God will use us mightily. I bless my dear brothers and sisters to live out heavenly attitudes and conduct together as a whole Tree of Life community and continue on the pilgrimage hand in hand.■【2022.04.10】
