Boil out Heavenly Flavors

Due to the severe pandemic in Hong Kong and the seriously tense international relations, we feel unprecedented pressure and hard-pressed on every side. But we are grateful that right here and right now, God is giving us the message on “The Heavenly 8 Beatitudes”. He is growing our lives like in the slow-cook process so that our lives are giving heavenly flavors.

Recently C-Mo had two special dreams. In the first one, a thief broke into our house. It was so vivid that C-Mo was woken up. Later on, we received in prayers that our house represented our church and the enemy was stealing peace from people’s hearts. In the second one, C-Mo was teaching co-workers as well as brothers and sisters about slow-cooking. Suddenly she became a hen herself and was sealed up in a plastic bag. After a period of time, she came out and turned back to herself. She told everyone present that it’s safe and no need to worry, and a great dish had been made. What does this slow-cooking signify? For the past two years, we have been walled in by the pandemic, like in the slow-cook process. However, God is protecting us and has granted us deep peace.

It happens that we have already preached three of the Eight Beatitudes on Sundays. It was never my plan to preach on the Eight Beatitudes because we had only preached five out of the Ten Commandments. However, God moved C-Mo to tell me to preach on the Eight Beatitudes. God has given us the message of the Eight Beatitudes. The eight beatitudes are like eight flavors. During the slow-cook process, we are braised in these flavours. Then when we are released from the slow-cook bag, we shall give out heavenly flavors, displaying God’s power.

As I reflected on God’s leading, I have come up with this poem: “Hemmed in by the pandemic, God’s unique slow cook stick; Life stewed in the beatitudes, Kingdom power displayed to the multitude.” It is my hope that after this long hardship, we shall be more soft-hearted and humble, more pure and simple so that our lives shall give out heavenly flavors!

It has been three months since the beginning of this year until now. The word of God still runs on the same theme and it’s leading us. His word gives us revelation, peace, hope and strength despite impasse. Together, we experience how real He is. I am deeply grateful for all these!■【2022.03.13】
