Lighting the Lamp in Morning Devotion, Responding to God’s Love

It has been twenty years since the establishment of 611. We have been consistent in lighting the lamp for God in Morning Devotion. This way, the Truth of God shall light up every of our steps ahead.

In the tabernacle that God instructed Moses to build, there were a golden lamp stand and showbread in the sanctuary. God commanded Aaron, the chief priest to keep the lamps burning that they should never be put out. It is because the lamps were related to God’s revelations. Today, we as priests have also to tend the lamp as our God delights to be with us and speak to us. He grants us fresh manna every day.

During Morning Devotion, we read a chapter of a specified book of the Bible every day. Until now, we have been experiencing how real God is. He gives us fresh insights and revelations through the scripture. These serve as timely reminders and give us wisdom to respond to the ever-changing situations every day. This way, we know how to go forward in His will, with faith and hope.

Personally, I enjoy Morning Devotion very much. Hence I encourage our co-workers and the Bible School students to minister in the sanctuary with me. Early in the morning, we rise, draw close to God and serve Him. Brothers and sisters are also welcome to join. Over time, I realise it is never easy to keep attending Morning Devotion day after day. Many co-workers tried their best to attend Morning Devotion on time when they first joined Bible School. On one hand, it was required by the Bible School. But more importantly, their longing was the driving force. Nevertheless, human beings have weaknesses and our co-workers are no exception. After joining the co-worker team, they have been occupied with lots of things, including taking care of the family. And pandemic has made things worse. As a result, being on time for the Morning Devotion has become a heavy burden, and even the yoke of the law. “Falling short of the expectation” brings them guilt and self-accusation.

Thank God that in Jehoshua 2022, God has delivered us from the oppression of legalism. After talking with co-workers’ team, we put their mind at ease so that everyone may receive God’s “apple”: His Love. He feeds us with daily bread, purely out of His Love. By God’s Love, we accept our own limitations and weaknesses. On the other hand, we respond to God’s love more willingly — we shoulder the duty of priests and Levites, we minster before God and intercede for His people.

In the new year, let us embrace God’s Love at a deeper level and receive the light of God’s Word during Morning Devotion so that we may shine in this generation.■【2022.01.23】
