Choose Relationship, Choose “Simple & Pure”

I do appreciate these teachings of being simple & pure. This gives us a wonderful reminder that we may know of this world; but we do not belong to it. We are enlightened to draw close to the real stream of living water, and drink from it every day. As to not allow Satan to destroy us and our families because of shiny object syndrome and the gossip nonsense of others. There is only one source! And by humbly rejecting the mental poisons this world shows us daily, we can live a simple & pure life.

It was refreshing to remember not to value interest over relationships, in a recent sermon. This point spoke to me as, how often do I say hello to people, when I do not need anything from them? How often do I give away a whole packet of tissue to a sister in her need? How often do I listen to others suffering from a compassionate heart, instead of secretly criticizing one? How often do I value the being of a friend, instead of their doing for me?

These questions brought me back to the life of little children playing. Little children run up to their friends to catch them and say hello. Little children will give their toys away, and say it ok, you can have it. Little children run to help the child that fell down in the playground.

Pastor Joshua said a person who is simple and pure is a joyous person. Indeed, when I look at the little children playing in the playground, they are full of joy; to the point that they don’t want to go home or even stop to eat.

May God be in our hearts forevermore! Amen.
