Choose God and You Will Experience Him

Praise the Lord! We are only two weeks away from the 20th anniversary of 611 Bread of Life Church. How thrilled we are to welcome this big day. Thankfully, the pandemic is under control. Therefore, physical gatherings are resumed in church. What a great grace of God that we can gather together and give thanks for how our church has found favor in the past twenty years!

Twenty years ago, God sent me back to Hong Kong. I established the church in a small rented place in North Point which could sit only 70 people. Due to the lack of manpower and resources, I was leading worship, preaching and collecting offering while C-Mo played keyboard. At that time, I hand wrote the sermon outline on transparent slides and projected them onto the screen. How primitive it was compared with today.

At the last stage of the North Point era, we were forced to move. Facing such difficulty, we prayed to God earnestly. Little did we know that God led us to the center of Hong Kong: Tsuen Wan. We just followed God and built up the Mercy Seat for Him. God’s provision has been abundant for the past two decades and Hekeeps adding manpower and resources to us and our church keeps expanding. Today we are able to not only worship at the Mercy Seat but also have a team of more than two hundred coworkers. We collaborate together and become a Tree of Life to lead our brothers and sisters and branch churches to follow God and encounter a lot of miracles. How incredible!

Despite the threat of the pandemic throughout last year, we still ordained 36 cell leaders last week. They have overcome the limits of the circumstances and disciple the flock steadily online. The pandemic cannot hinder our discipleship and we have more than a thousand faithful cell leaders shepherding the flock online and leading their cell members to connect with the church and follow God. God has also brought media experts to our church. Then through videos, without leaving our city, we are able to share the nutrients with around the globe.

Back in the days I pastored church in Vancouver, it was only C-Mo and I serving by ourselves. Yet today God gives us such a great team, it is truly an enormous grace of God!

These twenty years, the church has gone through many hardships. But I am resolute in following God. He is real and He has been leading us through all the difficulties. In the midst of socialmovement and the pandemic, God has been protecting us and leading us to ascend.

Dear brothers and sisters, what do you want in the days of turmoil? What do you desire in your heart? The world? Or God? This decision will have a life-long impact on you. When you determine to follow God, you will surely experience Him. God will lead you to overcome different trials and take you to the Promised Land He has prepared for you.■[2021.04.25]
