Receiving New Light in the Commandments

Brother Caleb was born and bred in Australia. After finishing two-year study at 611 Leadership Institute, he is now a HK611 staff. Let us hear how the teaching has challenged him.

In Australia, we have a term called “BAU ” – Business As Usual. After any crisis or irregularity, we always year n to “retur n to BAU.” The dream is to “finish your project and commence BAU activities.” You will literally hear people say this, syllable-for-syllable. Having lived in Hong Kong for so long now, I was shocked to hear this (normal in Australia) phrase from my cell member in Melbourne the other week.

But is BAU the right timing to aspire to live by? These days, I’m not so sure. For many years already, Ps Joshua has stressed the importance of “Following God’s timing” and rhythm. Recently, he has been preaching on the 4th commandment: to consecrate the Sabbath.

He shared a series of coincidences all 50 days apart; and then a second series of coincidences all with numerical value 6. For me, who is one of the more-skeptical humans in this world, these series of coincidences are… too uncanny to be coincidental.

They point toward the existence of divine timing – or Kairos (καιρός). Ps Joshua does his utmost to follow God’s timing and encounter these Kairos Moments. By observing all of the Lord’s Feasts, by faithfully lighting the lampstands at Mor ning Devotion, and now by doggedly consecrating the Sabbath – he has clea r evidence of God’s presence being with him.

Having seen these things – I want to be like this too; I want to follow God’s divine timing.

May all nations enter into His Divine Timing and be refreshed and renewed.
