Exploring the Ten Commandments

Thank God that at the beginning of a new cycle, we were led to preach on the Ten Commandments. In the coming ten months, we will explore, savour and experience the Ten Commandments with a brand-new perspective and width. In the past, I found it difficult and stressful to preach on the Ten Commandments. Last year, I did try but was unable to go on after the prelude. In that case, why do we restart it now?

At around 10pm on April 28 this year, I saw a bright cloud in the shape of an angel resting beside our house and a halo radiated out from our house. Then the cloud rose slowly from the tree in the yard up to the sky. I am 66 years old now and have never seen a cloud or a halo resting in front of me. Isn’t it like the scene of a bright cloud overshadowing the disciples after Jesus transfigured on a mountain as depicted in the bible? I knew it was a visit from our heavenly Father which happened six months ago.

Why did God visit me? What did it mean? One of the things that I have received is that God wants to make a covenant with us. Certainly, we already have the covenant of Christ which is the New Testament. Today,God also wants us to receive the Ten Commandments that He gave the Israelites when He came down upon Mount Sinai. At that time He madea covenant with the Israelites through Moses so that He could establish a new relationship with them, upon which He could lead them onwards. In the same way, our heavenly Father is making a new covenant with us today by the Ten Commandments and will lead us into a new cycle.

Meanwhile, C-Mo also reminded me that the motivation to preach on the Ten Commandments was the Tree of Life Kindergarten. What is fundamental to the lives of little children? C-Mo believes that children education calls for a positive interpretation of the Ten Commandments. At present, I am fully aware of both the positive and passive interpretation of the Ten Commandments, making it the time to preach it.

The Ten Commandments are the backbone of the legal framework in Western countries. Therefore, we interpret them under a new light and put the crystallized truth into the kindergarten curriculum so that it becomes the most core foundation in education, even every society and country. In this way, the crooked and perverse generation can go back on the right track.

After preaching the first message on the Ten Commandments last Saturday (October 31), I was so thrilled that I could not go to sleep at night. The presence of God was very strong and He endorsed what I had preached. After preaching the third service on Sunday, I went to play basketball. Despite the lack of sleep, I played for three whole hours and even scored 3-point many times. Thank God for giving me extra energy!

We have just entered into the third cycle. To the Church, countries today and the beginning of a new era, the Ten Commandments are most-needed. I believe that our brothers and sisters are delighted and looking forward to receiving the blessings and promises of the Ten Commandments and to entering into a deeper and better relationship with God.•[2020.11.08]
