July 23 (Thur) was the 37th Wedding Anniversary of C-Mo and I. On the same day two years ago, we embarked on the journey of “Planting Trees of Life Everywhere in 52 Years”. The very same day also marks my ordination as a pastor 25 years ago. As we march on and then look back, we have lots of insights and feelings deep down. Our marriage is truly filled with God’s wonderful will and blessings. The core of Tree of Life is marriage. As led by God, we have been receiving new revelations on the understanding of marriage and family for the past decade.
Thank God! He continues to lead us into building up trust and relationship between two generations. He has called us to be fathers under the Tree of Life to disciple this generation. Last Sunday, Ps Deborah preached the sermon titled “More Love, More Faith, More Glory,” sharing the life story of herself and her relationship with her youngest sister. The truth brings freedom. The message and testimony that she shared not only freed her emotionally, but also brought healing to many brothers and sisters.
Wednesday was the DSE Result Release Day, so with the results in their hands, some students and parents are happy, while others are worried. However, how can the results of a single exam determine the success or failure of one’s whole life? Whatever the results might be, we will go on to live our lives. The question is “how?” Firstly, I congratulate those who received good results, but if you haven’t received what you expected, I encourage you to continue to equip and improve yourself, because your life can still be used gr eatly by God.
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) As we face the current challenges, the values of this world shouldn’t be our standard in weighing and making choices. Our eyes should be fixed on Jesus, believing He is in control of everything!
Our Heavenly Father often uses cir cumstances to train us up, ther efore we must march on in faith. As God has placed us in Hong Kong, all we need to do therefore is to Follow Him in Hong Kong. I had lived in Canada for more than a decade, and travelled to many cities, but I deeply feel that God loves Hong Kong, He blesses her, and He will greatly use her.
There is no doubt that the future is becoming tougher and tougher, whether in terms of further education or employment, and the younger generation are as though on a rough sea. My children, I have a word of encouragement for you. The younger generation needs the cover and encouragement of our generation. They have an even greater need to know and follow the Truth, instead of following the values of the world. By following God closely, in- and out-of-season, we can definitely make the right choices, and see the Glory of God.•[2020.07.26]
