God Delights to Put Rainbow as a Sign of Covenant

At the dusk of June 16 (Tue) a double rainbow appeared in the sky of Hong Kong, which was very unusual. The rainbow was clear, full and in such proximity to us that we were truly thrilled! What is God doing? What is He saying to us?

On that day we had our curator meeting at a new place facing Ting Kau Bridge, Tsing Ma Bridge and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It was a pleasant and soothing sight to behold, broadening our perspective and mind. We counted the wonderful things that God had done in the lives of our co-workers and knelt down to present thanksgiving offering to God. It was sunny at the beginning and suddenly rain poured down. Immediately, C-Mo prayed: “we really want to see a rainbow!”

After the meeting I walked back home with C-Mo. Approaching ourhouse gate at around 6:20pm, an end of a rainbow appeared at about 20 feet from us. A few minutes later, the entire beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky and its other end seemed to rest at the shelter place where we just stayed shortly from the rain. Then a double rainbow showed up! It’s a rare sight and it’s so close to us. What’s more, it appeared right after our prayer.

My firm belief is that God is not just answering our prayers, but He is also well pleased with what we are doing. He is affirming us looking after the land, saying: “well done and keep it up!” Coming back to Hong Kong in 2001, I laid my hands on the land to devote myself to the land of Hong Kong and made a covenant with it, saying: “I love you land, I’m back! I will serve God and build up the Kingdom of God here.” Since then, I feel that the land loves us very much and has been yielding its strength to us even to this day.

There are eleven core values in our church, the first one reads “God first, people next, then the earth”. And the rest are about our relationship with God and with people. Now the Holy Spirit has brought us to the realm of the land because God wants us to take care of the entire land.

God has created land for man to rule over and the land is to yield its strength to us. Man is made of dust of the ground and by the Holy Spirit, we are turned into a spiritual being living on the land, closely related to the land in everything. The earth is God’s creation, revealing of the sons of God who bring froth redemption. Jesus has come and we are Christ’s body. We are to bring redemption and blessings to the land.

There have been heavy rainstorms recently. I live by the seaside with a parcel of field nearby. The ditch was blocked, so the workers looked for another drainpipe. However, the drainpipe was so narrow that flooding was caused on the field. I ordered to have the old ditch opened up, our co-workers removed all tree roots stuck in the ditch and the water is now gushing which sounds just like praises to God: “I’m so so happy!”

Seemingly God is telling us through the rainbow, “You are taking care of the land, I see it! I make a covenant with you, the land shall yield its strength to you and to the Kingdom of God!”•[2020.06.21]
