Bring Forth Treasures New and Old

Thank God that onsite service has been resumed since last Saturday. Despite the black, red and amber rainstorm signals issued that day, the longing of brothers and sisters was unaffected. The government restrictions on religious gatherings were duly observed. Greatly pleased that the four onsite services over the weekends were held in good order, we give all glory to the Lord!

As a whole, the services were arranged exceptionally well. My disciple Jason Tuan preached the message. He used to be an investment banker, making a lot of money for his company. Yet willingly, he gave up high position in the marketplace to serve God in church, what a great testimony of sand being transformed to a pearl.

The testimony of Japanese couple Taka and Meiji matched the sermon title nicely: “Disciples are most valuable in the Kingdom of Heavens”. It was gloomy outside the sanctuary, yet the dazzling pearls were shining bright regardless.

Three years ago, God prompted C-Mo to have dinner with Taka and Meiji on the only night she stayed in Japan. Over the dinner, C-Mo called them back to Hong Kong. Through many ups and downs for the past three odd years, finally, they are able to get over the hurts and distrust caused in previous ministries.

Revisiting the darkness and rough patches of his life and realizing how he is being discipled and covered in 611, Taka sobbed during thanksgiving and even burst into tears. That brought great encouragement and powerful healing to many onsite and online alike.

Totally unplanned, C-Mo put on a fishnet shaped vest that day, pinned with a pearl brooch in the pattern of a Tree of life. It so happened that the sermon talked about the parable of dragnet being cast into the sea. Her outfit signified the dragnet gathering all kinds of treasures from the sea.

Lastly, the message talked about Matthew 13:52: “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.” I knew right away God was working! An idea dawned on me: during the end of the message, I invited C-Mo to take a prophetic act which was to take off her fishnet vest as if casting it into the sea and then collecting pearls and treasures.

A true worship is to let people come before God on Sabbath, restore their relationship with God and have their life transformed.

Dear brothers and sisters, God has drawn us from the sea by net. He picks the bad and throws them away. Those who are willing to follow Him shall be persevered as treasure and then from them, many more treasures shall be put forth. In faith, we follow God and trust Him! By His leading, our lives will not be the same any mor e.•[2020.06.14]
