Greater Perspective in 2020

Thank God for granting us the “Seeing 2020” message. Today, our perspective shall definitely go greater. Recently, I bumped into Mr. Hugo Chan, elder of The Praise Assembly and Rev. Billy Lau of Yuen Long Kam Kwong Church in a restaurant. We made the best of the opportunity to greet each other. Knowing them for many years, I am grateful to see them in “Seeing 2020”. We have made plans to get together for more conversations so as to build deeper relationship.

They were concerned about how “611” is doing. “When Hong Kong is going through fierce social movement, by the leading of God, the whole church is of one-heart and two generations joining hand, sparing our church of major adverse impacts”, I replied with great gratitude. In the meantime, the “Era of Youth Evangelism” launched officially through Sunday messages. Two or even three generations are sharing the pulpit. The youth is speaking to the youth, discussing life issues and passing on their own lives.

During his visit to us last month, Rev. Anton Cruz prophesized that God will raise up ten thousand young people in Hong Kong in five years’ time. The churches should arise and pray, raising up the young generation by tailor-making platforms for them. In the last few years, two large-scale concerts, namely “For Your Glory We Fight” and “Fly High For Your Glory”, had been held in the Piazza at Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui and Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wanchai respectively. Meanwhile, we are determined to develop the media centre as we anticipate that the Gospel and life messages shall be spread far and wide, influencing the whole earth through media.

Recently, Pastor David Cho of Yoido Full Gospel Church has informed us of his upcoming plan to visit us in Hong Kong. God reminded me that eight years ago Pastor Cho said that 611 shall be a church of four hundred thousands which I could hardly believe. To me, a congregation of two hundred thousands people was a hard enough goal. In a blink of an eye, eight years passed. With the wonderful growth of Tai-Po 611, Wonderful 611 and New Crop 611, the three Hong Kong branch churches of ours, the total number of 611 members in Hong Kong estimates at ten thousands. It is a far-off from four hundred thousands but I worry not as I believe God shall continue to lead us.

Dear brothers and sisters, God Himself has told us to plant Trees of Life over all the earth. As long as we keep on working towards being a Tree of Life Church, we shall see more branch churches built up. None of these is by the hands of man because the timetable is in God’s Hands.
