Wonderful Counselor Takes us Forward

After our Europe trip a while back, co-worker couples’ camp was held, followed by the monthly prayer meeting. That same weekend saw the performance of the drama “The King of Love” which brought forth the message of “Be Holy to Triumph”, the life experience of Joshua in the Bible. All these heightened the overall faith of the church. These inextricably intertwined events were never intentional nor planned. In hindsight, we stand amazed at the works of the Wonderful Counsellor – God’s Grace is overflowing everywhere.

During our retreat in Europe, Hong Kong was in the midst of most unsettled situation and she tugged at our heartstrings. Amazingly, through Michelangelo’s David, God confirmed that we are to be sculptors of man. While we were driving, the whole land was covered in haze. However, a ray of light broke through dense cloud and there was a road sign pointing towards the light, with the word “EXIT” on it. Once again, God encouraged us: Do not be afraid; only believe! He has pulled us out of low mood so that we may keep going forward and continue to the planting and sculpting work in people’s lives.

Thank God that we had co-workers couples’ camp after returning to Hong Kong. As usual, we fine-tuned, pruned and polished every marriage relationships of our co-workers. A glorious church starts from couples and their families. When the husband and wife are built up and used by God, the atmosphere in church and the society will be different.

On the monthly prayer meeting last Thursday, we shared with all cell leaders what we had received during Europe trip. God’s Spirit moved mightily in the congregation, immersing the whole Mercy Seat in unity and joy, what a chance to lift up our faith corporately. Now, our experience in Europe is not limited to me and C-Mo but has extended to all brothers and sisters of our church.

On the following weekend, the drama “The King of Love” was showing, something C-Mo had been prompted to do and it was the best time to perform it. Through the drama, we recognize that all political systems are of flaws and imperfect, but God alone endures forever. Therefore, we should pursue God in faith and live out God’s truth unswervingly and with steadfast faith.

God inspired me to preach the message “Be Holy to Triumph” based on Joshua 5. His words are given us to understand His will. By His words as our foundation and His continuous guidance, our church has reached a higher level in faith and is able to see more solidly that God is indeed leading our church to march on.

Dear brothers and sisters, everything is from God, may it be the performance of “The King of Love”, or the message “Be Holy to Triumph” about Joshua; all happened at just the right time because the Hand of God had orchestrated all.
