During the Cell Leader Ordination luncheon on the 10th November, Pastor Lyan shared with the newly-ordained cell leaders the following:
Other than pastors and co-workers, cell leader is the most important part in 611 who plays crucial role in promoting church activities, carrying out the discipleship concepts of Pastor Joshua and C-Mo and living out the Kingdom of Heaven. The success of a church depends very much on cell leaders who shall pass on the Tree of Life nutrients to our current congregation of eight to nine thousands members. Without cell leaders, how can Pastor Joshua and C-Mo feed these nine thousand people spiritually? It’s impossible! As a cell leader, we shall take note of the following three points:
Firstly, cell leaders should side with the church. If cell leaders do not understand and are unclear about the teachings of the church, they should ask their own cell leader. Through listening to the authority, cell leaders learn to see things from the church’s perspective and understand the church’s stance. Then when cell members hold different views from that of the church, cell leaders can bridge the gap between the church and her members, allowing cell members to understand more of the church’s viewpoints.
Secondly, cell leaders should appreciate the needs of cell members. When cell members share their difficulties, cell leaders should listen and accept their feelings. First of all, cell leaders are to affirm cell members, understand their needs before offering help. If necessary, cell leaders can relay to their cell leader or MG leader or even MG department. Cell leaders must handle the issue as a peacemaker.
Thirdly, trust is of utmost importance. We must trust that it is God who puts us in the post of a cell leader. We are bound to face all kinds of difficulties in discipleship, some cell leaders give up discipleship totally because of these. However, we must trust that God has entrusted us discipleship and granted us the position as a cell leader for His good and perfect will. God delights in us doing discipleship, and will grant us huge reward and crown in heaven.•
