Follow the Holy Spirit, Growing to be Tree of Life (I)

During Family Breakfast Meeting on the 17th Oct, one bible school student asked Pastor Joshua that after finishing bible school, how they should continue to prepare themselves so as to carry on the vision of 52 years planting trees of life everywhere. Below was the response of Pastor Joshua:

The vision of 611 is Isaiah 61 verse 1. Over the past 18 years, our church has been following this God-given vision. Now God has further entrusted us the mission of planting Trees of Life everywhere in 52 years. Not only does God lead 611 to be Tree of Life, He also desires to plant Trees of Life everywhere. When I first established 611, this never crossed my mind. But under the leading of the Holy Spirit, God revealed to me.

In the marketplace, one devises short-term and longterm plans, how to utilize available resources and even setting up first year goal and second year goal. However, it is not the case of the church. To plant Trees of Life in 52 years, there is no set plan as to build how many branch churches each year in order to accomplish the vision in certain years. The church continuously checks on how the Holy Spirit is leading us and how to ready people’s hearts.

Trees of Life are grown, not made. It is a fake if made. Those which are grown are for real. The core values given to us by God are the DNA of the Tree of Life. If we do not have these DNA in our lives, the churches we pastor will not grow to be Trees of Life.

Besides, Tree of Life begins with couple’s relationship, family and the community of Levitical priests. Hence team relationship is crucial. We regard team ministry, mutual relationships more than individual ability.

In conclusion, how may we prepare ourselves? First of all, do not think about what we should do, but focus on personal life. Secondly, highly value our relationship with the Holy Spirit and each other, and walk closely in step with the Holy Spirit. (To be continued)•
