Discipleship is to Perfect Others’ Lives

In the monthly prayer meeting on 3 Oct, Pastor Deborah expressed her support to the arrangement of discipling husband and wife together. Also, she shared her thoughts on discipleship:

“I back the idea that couple should receive discipleship together. It is my desire that the couple relationship of my cell members and disciples turning sweeter and happier. Moreover, I am pleased that my disciple is promoted to be MG leader, being discipled with her husband by Pastor Joshua and C-Mo. I am eager to witness the success of my disciples. Isn’t it great that they are promoted so that they shall bless more couples?

As I submitted to the plan of Pastor and C-Mo, the number of my disciples dropped from 180 to 60. But I never intend to build up my own kingdom. All my sheep are God’s anyway. The purpose of my discipleship is to see my cell members and disciples’ life grow and them being blessed in marriage. As a single cell leader, I am willing to receive single new cell member even though it is possible that one day she gets married and be transferred to couple cell group. In the future, if she is elevated, it actually means my discipleship on her is successful and it shall be my glory.

God has given me His words: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38) Now I have 4 couple disciples. I believe I can nurture more disciples and more couples in the future.”

To that, C-Mo responded, “if we consider the church as a whole, not a single tribe or a cell group; couples being discipled under the same cell leader will bring forth an increase in quality and quantity of the church discipleship. This Tree of Life, the church, will become more sturdy and glorious.•
