Becoming “Tree of Life Church”
Starting from last week, we read the book of Revelation in morning devotion which we have done a few times before. As I revisit it again, I am deeply touched. Holy Spirit shows me that the Church is the Tree of Life. In the era of turbulent, turmoil and unrest it shall arise and speak out. It shall also bear fruits just as the Tree of Life, bringing hope, revival and transformation.
In 2005, prompted by the Holy Spirit and for the sake of reviving Asia, “Holy Spirit 100” took place where we studied the bible and prayed for 100 cities in Asia for 100 nights consecutively. Back then, we moved the morning devotion to the evening, reading one chapter of the Bible everyday as usual. We chose Genesis (the first book of the Bible, of 50 chapters), Revelation (the last one of the Bible, of 22 chapters), plus Matthew (the first book of the New Testament, of 28 chapters). In total we read 100 chapters. Later on, the book “Entering Genesis” was published, recording the inspirations revealed to us in God’s word and the wonderful work of God during “Holy Spirit 100”.
Right after possessing land in Tsuen Wan in 2007, “Jesus 101” Healing and Evangelistic meeting was conducted from 8th December 8, 2007 to 17th March 17, 2008. Half way through the conference, we received from God that “After revival, healing will come naturally. During revival, God shall use us to be vessels to transform this generation.”
Therefore, starting from the 75th night, healing the sick, casting out demons, evangelism and Bible Study took place simultaneously every night. Coincidentally, we read Revelation and Malachi (the last books of the Old and New Testament) which brought us great hope to lead brothers and sisters from holiness into revival. Shocked as “Edison Chen Photo Scandal” happened, exposing the dark and corrupt side of the society at the time, we were aware that God would raise up the Church to speak to the society and transform it.
This year C-Mo received from God the vision of “Jacob’s ladder”. Hence “The Blessed Jacob” preaching series began. It is a heart-throbbing story of the tribal leaders of Israel. Moreover, we happen to read revelation again in morning devotion, the vision of “Tree of Life Church” continues, I am greatly filled with gratitude and praise.
Last Tuesday I retreated to the Hiding Place in Cheung Chau with C-Mo. The next day, we walked from the seaside to the terrace which is just like Jacob’s ladder and I name it “Garden of Eden.” There is a stream clear as crystal running in the terrace where many small fishes make it their home. Our dog was largely excited taking his first trip there, couldn’t stop running up and down the stream. In the past, the youth left Cheung Chau to find a living. But now there is a high influx of the tourist, bringing revival to all businesses. When the “Garden of Eden” is constructed as a retreat campsite, it will be a serene and spacious place most closest to the Cheung Chau ferry pier.
In Acceptable 2019, the wonderful guidance of the Holy Spirit has been evident – possessing land again, the preaching series of “The Blessed Jacob” and vision of “Tree of Life Church” from the book of Revelation. Dear brothers and sisters, let us still ourselves before God and let the Holy Spirit take over, this is the beginning of revival. No matter how hard our circumstances are, how low our life is or how many problems we face; Christ Jesus has indeed overcome. He holds the seven stars and walks among the seven churches. Surely, the Church will bear fruits just like the Tree of Life and be the royal priesthood of this generation.• [2019.02.24]
