My name is Gladly Dacaymat. I am a cell member of Pastor Gigi, in Pastor Ruby’s tribe. In 2012 I came to work in Hong Kong, hoping to provide financial support for my family. For the first 3 years of my employment here, the relationship with my employer was not good. My heart was always downcast, and I bottled up everything – I did not dare to share my struggles with anyone.
There were times I sent my entire salary back home, but still it was not enough to meet their financial needs. I even tried to borrow money from banks, but my applications were rejected. Deeply frustrated, I gave up on the idea of saving money.
One day, my employer brought me to 611. Largely touched by the Word of God, I joined a cell group at ANEW there and then. Their support gave me a sense of belonging in this spiritual family. When I grew frustrated with my work and told my employer that I wanted to resign, she surprised me by asking me to talk about my frustration. As I did, she surprised me again by apologizing to me as a sister in Christ and asking me to forgive her. I was touched beyond words and I forgave her and renewed my contract with her.
Moreover, I used to spend my Sundays in malls or parks after church service. After renewing my contract, I attended some equipping courses at 611, and experienced breakthroughs in life. I learned to cast all my cares (financial worries) upon God, because He cares for me. I am thankful for my cell leader who always keeps me in prayers. I also learned to pray, meditate on God’s words, trust the Lord with my finances and cheerfully give my tithe. Then I experience the wonderful blessing of the Lord, restoring my relationship with my employer, and I now work for her with a thankful heart and pray constantly for family.
Praise God, He has taken away my worries and burdens and given me peace and joy instead. Thank you Jesus for being my great Shepherd – I shall not be in want for He provides me everything I need. I give all the praise, honour, and glory to the Almighty God of love and mercy. • [2018.12.16]
