Reset to Align with God, March Forward in Humility

Since the “Cruise Carnival” in July through to the 1000-people baptism and Sukkot that has just past, the co-workers, MG leaders and I have been at a spiritual high.

There were 500 people baptized at the beach baptism last year and it went just like any other baptism without any news coverage. Surprisingly, the news of 852 people baptized this year has been circulated in media, what a beautiful work of God which is far beyond our imagination.

Afterwards C Mo and I went on a retreat, during which God told us to “reset to zero”.

How to reset to zero? Before Typhoon Mangkhut hit, we had only been praying and waiting on God, but in the end we followed our protocol, adapted to the situation, and postponed the baptism to 30th Sept.

In spite of our efforts, we were misunderstood by t and this deeply upset me. I realize I must return to God, lay down all my burdens and readjust. This is the first reset to zero.

Coming back from the US, we are invited to attend the breakfast prayer meeting with the president of Israel next year, this is a sudden promotion from God.

After postponing the baptism we have received many compelling news and reports, as well as the praise and support by many.

What a mighty work of God in which He used us and affirmed us. More importantly, the message of “Christ was born on Sukkot” is finally spread throughout Hong Kong, how exciting is that!

Even with such positive responses, we must still reset to zero before God, never take pride in praise because we are merely sinners saved by grace and everything is by God’s grace. Let us go back to where we started and give glory to God.

The 3rd thing to reset to zero is that I have been exhausted in body, soul and spirit and even lost my voice due to hectic schedule from the cruise carnival to the baptism. Right after the Israel trip in September, I worked on the contingency plan for baptism due to the typhoon, handling misunderstanding of us in the media as well as strengthening brothers and sisters in faith. Therefore, I was required to talk a lot, make various decisions and be ready to make changes at any time. Desperately, I reset myself to the beginning before God, pray and rest, stay closely in tune with the Holy Spirit and be sensitive to His leading.

Lastly, we must reset interpersonal relationships to the beginning. Due to the stress and pressure over the recent months, relationships of me and C-Mo and of co-workers take time to cultivate. Never should we take ourselves as somebody because we are being promoted. We must simply acknowledge that we are nobody but sinners saved by grace, let¡¦s always be fully aware of this and fellowship with one other on this basis. Dear brothers and sisters, together we have experienced God¡¦s lavish grace and witnessed His works of wonder. May I encourage all of you to return to God, align with Him and build an intimate relationship with Him. We shall neither be negatively influenced nor pride ourselves on good news. Instead, we must guard our hearts, continue to march forward, submit to God, follow Him and be grateful to Him. [2018.10.14]
