A Speck of Sand Being Remembered
The Sanctification Series of the Leadership Institute purifies my life and restores my identity as a true son. The evil one has stolen joy, trust and relationship from me during ministry, but God, through the life sharing of the teachers, has revived my passion in serving him.
After Scripture lesson, my previous experience in the seminary urged me to rush back for homework. And yet, the Institute brightens my eyes and opens the floodgates of the Living water so that I find great delight in spending more time soaking and even interacting with the Scripture.
Once I was told to choose a good seminary by its library book collection. But now I realize all depends on whether Spirit Series is included in its curriculum. My previous ministry had everything but the Holy Spirit which made it like pushing a sports car without racing it. Elite soldiers are built by uprooting bitterness, being filled with the Holy Spirit who pours down anointing and strength.
I feel like going through rehabilitation in the Service Series which enables me to review my church pastoring experience and realize how I have paralyzed the church and brought members into “coma” by focusing solely on ministry. Today the practical training in the Institute has taught me to balance and plan ministries.
Through the love of Pastor Joshua and C-Mo, I have learned to embrace my authority, interacting genuinely with my cell leader because I am not a spiritual orphan anymore. Bonding well with classmates and roommates, I no longer seclude myself in a cave.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Thank God for His mercy and kindness which strengthens me to relaunch my faith journey heartily as I bathe in His sweet blessings. ■ (Pastor David Yancey is from Penang Malaysia, current 611 Leadership Institute student.)
