Live out Love, Pray for Hong Kong (2)

Continued from last week, Pastor Anna taught cell leaders how to disciple cell members in light of the current situation in Hong Kong:

If any cell member expresses any opinions, in a seemingly emotional state on cell group chat room, may it be political or not, cell leader must take back the right to speak in the group and state his stance. Being the spiritual parent of the cell group, he shall never remain silent. If he does, the emotionally stirred cell member will keep on talking while others may be uninterested. Everyone is unique with different upbringing and minds. Therefore, we need to respect and love each other. We love because God first loved us and cell leader shall show love to his cell members. Perhaps some cell members are sad, angry, hopeless and helpless regarding the current issues, cell leader is to understand their feelings and accept them. In the same way, our Lord Jesus loves us – He is accepting, patient and embracing toward us. Such love builds up the life of cell members. Afterwards, cell leader may set up rules and boundaries in chat groups. Facing any current social issues, cell leader sets the tone that only prayer, intercession and thanksgiving are allowed in the chat group. No videos, messages and any type of media reports should be shared in the chat group regardless of its stance, may it be for or against the issues. Opposition inevitably arises among cell members through the sharing of such messages, therefore, cell leader must delete those messages to avoid any opposition. Cell leader is not to dictate conversation but to leave room for cell members to convey their feelings, such as setting up individual chat group. If couple is involved, then set up couple’s chat group so that they are free to share and express.•
