In light of Hong Kong’s recent political climate, how should cell leaders disciple their cell members? Pastor Anna made some suggestions during 4th July Monthly Prayer Meeting:
“Firstly, cell leaders as the authority must speak up and set the tone in the cell group. Cell leaders may suggest some prayer pointers, encourage cell members to pray for the predicament of Hong Kong through gift of prophecy, receive revelation about the situations in physical and spiritual realms. Then pray, proclaim and cry out to God accordingly. Cell group can spend a longer period of time to pray in tongues collectively so that the mighty army of God shall overcome the spiritual warfare in Hong Kong until the crisis is over.
Afterwards, cell group can take action together. For example, praise loudly when you see someone’s good deeds to eliminate brutality; show understanding and mercy to those who are worried; cry out to God together when others are angry because human anger does not replace God’s righteousness. Let us express love towards our family and church members regardless of our political stances because we are one family and nothing is worth arguing about. Politics is outside parental and marriage relationship, we should draw close to our family at such a time as this. We must continue to share love so that hatred and dispute may end. When we get together (like having meals) and utter negative words, cell leaders shall take the lead to bow and pray, cry out to God until the negativity disperses. God will help us.
