During Monthly Prayer Meeting on 14 February, Pastor Joshua and C-Mo described discipleship as “embracing the pearl”. C-mo stated,
“A pearl is a living thing. A mother of pearl embraces a grain of sand with its life and keeps embracing it until it becomes a pearl. Therefore pearl is a living thing and even with temperature. Those pearls grow in the sea are saltwater pearls, they are more valuable and different from freshwater pearls. There is only one pearl in each mother of pearl. Those pearls are of different shapes, round, egg-shaped, flat-button, pear-shaped or irregular. They are also of different colors, white, pink, silver and gold.”
“Perhaps some wonder, ‘there are a lot of people in the church, does Heavenly Father really notice me?’; ‘It makes not much difference even if I join the church’; ‘My life is not as precious as others, it is insignificant’. But because each mother of pearl can only embrace a pearl; every pearl is unique and precious. In the eyes of God, every one of us is a unique pearl.”
“Discipleship is embracing the pearl, embracing the pearl is discipleship. Every cell leader spending time and effort to disciple cell member is in fact embracing pearls. It is same as building up a church. Pastor Joshua and I started 611 church in 2001, for the past 18 years, we have been embracing pearls. Every cell leader, staff and MG leader are nurtured through us embracing pearls and discipling them. This pearl project is nothing simple, it requires a lot of effort but it is definitely worthwhile. It is my deep desire to offer the numerous lives of cell members as pearls to God when we see Him face to face in the futur e.” •
